About Me

Been playing, singing and writing honky tonk music for over 20 years. Played bass and sang a little for 20 years or so before that. My folks first date was at a dance in Houston. Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys were the band. This kind of music seems pretty natural to me. I plan on doing it 'til I drop.

About Me

I grew up with no radio in the house, but we had an old wind up Victrola... and there was always singing and sometimes playing at the family gatherings. Randomly, less before my retirement than afterward, I was lucky enough to atttend concerts, notably Billy Joe Shaver, James Hand, Johnny Bush, Johnny Lyons before his death, Don Williams, Charlie Pride, George Strait, Juice Newton, Emmy Lou Harris, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Hagard, Mel Tillis, Ray Price, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Bobby Bare, Johnny Lee,Rambling Jack Elliot , and Arlo Guthrie... all of whom I considered it an honor to hear live...it makes a difference, no matter how many times you've listened to them recorded. Music moves my soul, sometimes my feet, and always gets or keeps me going.

About Me

I love life, people and grateful for life's opportunities and having a second/third.....chance.

Reading, rock hunting/polishing, nature walks.  Writing songs about life and its trials,

and recording them is soul satisfying.  Like mixing old school blues, country, soul, gospel

and hill country.  Dream with your sleeves rolled up and do unto others as you would

have them do to  you.  God bless. db
